Course Rating Information
The Columbus District Golf Association's Course Rating Committee,
working on behalf of the USGA, has completed its ratings for
Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club.
The addition of some new tees and bunkers necessitated the need to
have the course re-rated, plus the Club added a new set of Blue Tees. Rattlesnake Ridge now has five sets of tees, making the course
enjoyable for all categories of golfer.
The Black Tees (7,012 Yards), Blue Tees (6,628 Yards) and
Copper Tees (6,332 Yards) will be the primary tee markers for the men.
The Silver Tees (5,877 Yards) will be the Senior Men's and
Championship Women's tee markers. The Plum Tees (5,285 Yards)
will be the regular Women's tee markers.
The USGA Course Rating is the USGA's evaluation of the
playing difficulty of a course for scratch golfers under normal
conditions.
The USGA Slope Rating evaluates the difficulty of a
course for players who are not scratch golfers. The lowest USGA Slope
Rating is 55 and the
highest is 155. A course of standard playing
difficulty has a slope rating of 113.
The Ratings Committee evaluated the course first by tabulating
obstacles and hazards, then later played the course to verify
the earlier observations.
