Mr. Robert Herron

Today's Spring Scramble marks the start of the Club's 8th
golf season and the start of a new tradition here
at Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club..

Beginning this year, a Club member will hit an official tee
shot from the first tee to commemorate the start of
the tournament season.

The Club is proud to announce that Mr. Robert Herron
will be the Club's first Honorary Starter. Mr. Herron is an
original member of Rattlesnake Ridge. Over the past seven
seasons, Mr. Herron has been a regular in the Wednesday
night men's twilight and has participated in many if not most
of the Club's golf events. For the past two seasons Mr. Herron
has served as the non-playing co-captain of the Rattlesnake Cup.
The Rattlesnake Cup is an event held each year in September
pitting two teams of Club members against each other in a
Ryder Cup format. Last season he and fellow co-captain Brian Reppart (who has been the losing captain the past seven years) rallied their team to a Rattlesnake Cup victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to welcome you to
the start of the 2008 tournament season. Mr. Herron will put
the first ball in play this morning at 9:45 am. Members and
guests are encouraged to gather around the first tee
to commemorate this event.
